    Definitely the best route to go. Also a battery tender is a great purchase along with installing the pigtail on your battery to keep your bike plugged in whenever it is sitting. The sales guy at my local Harley dealership told me about this years ago and he has had the same battery for eight years. Definitely a must during winter.

      It’s the Union Pacific railroads property. All I did was call them and asked for permission to hunt.. All they asked was for me to pick up every shotgun shell and never leave the gate unlocked.. and they sent me a key to the gate..

    I recently watched another video that showed the trigger assembly being put in first upon reassembly (so I did the same) and it took wayyy longer to try and get it back together. Glad I decided to watch your video this time, it literally took me about 10 seconds to get it fully reassembled.

    You were able to remove the bolt assembly from the receiver without first taking off the trigger assembly. Mine doesn't appear to be able to be done this way. Maybe i just need to giggle it more or something. I did notice your slide was closed when you did it, but I also have the security model.

    The manual only shows how to take barrel off when cleaning. I wonder if it is even necessary to take it a part this much to clean it, if ever.

    Ya toggle switch is only as smart as the operator. I suggest running your accessories thru relays. My driving lights and stereo amp are run directly from the battery and triggered by other wires to have them come on with the switch. That way I never accidently leave anything running after I shut the engine off.

    • @ElTresZero
      @ElTresZero 9 месяцев назад

      Can a relay be used directly with the positive from the battery with no battery draw issues or does it still need to be connected to an ignition wire? I'm getting ready to set up my system and looking for any info or advice I can find.

    • @PainterD54
      @PainterD54 9 месяцев назад

      @@ElTresZero The Relay is just a magnetic switch that uses a trigger wire to activate the switch. It will not drain the battery. When you use a wire that comes on with your key switch, it activates the switch so it is active only when they key is on. My speaker amplifies comes on when I turn the bike on and is always on when I'm riding and always off when the bike is shut off.

    • @ElTresZero
      @ElTresZero 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you! So just so im sure. I can connect the wire directly to the positive terminal? Or would it be best to tap into a different "hot" wire?

    • @PainterD54
      @PainterD54 9 месяцев назад

      Do yourself a favor and look up a video (or do a google search) on how to wire a four post relay. Two of the posts are the power from the battery to the item you are trying to power (in my case, my speaker amplifier) and the other two are the ground wire and the wire from the ignition wire source that powers the relay.

    • @ElTresZero
      @ElTresZero 9 месяцев назад

      @PainterD54 I appreciate it. Have been doing so for a while now. Not many great videos out there but I'll change up my search. Thanks again for the advice.

  • @PainterD54
    @PainterD54 10 месяцев назад

    It's not BOSE, it's BOSS. Anyway anyone who knows what they're doing will run their speaker systems thru a relay so it comes on with the key switch because not all bikes have an accessory position on the key switch.

Stoeger P3000 Defense Stoeger is a name well-known to many people. ... 3. Savage/Stevens Security 320 Much like Maverick is Mossberg’s economy brand, Stevens is Savage’s economy brand. ... 4. I currently have 11 inch "ram horn" bars with a 2 inch riser. (1999 FXDWG OEM) I'm interested in swapping them for 14 inch lane splitter MX T-bars. They have basically the same dimesnions, but in a very different profile. Will I need any new cables?

    • @JT-Terry
      @JT-Terry Год назад

      You might get lucky and already have a extended wiring harness, from whoever did the first bar swap for the 11’s… (But of course you won’t know until you start the swap and pull the wires) If not, then you will definitely need to get a extended wiring harness. Making your own extension will be a lot cheaper. You can obviously get the all the right COLOR cords so everything matches. We just did it this way because we couldn’t find all the right COLOR cords we needed..!! Is your handlebar wiring ran through the 11’s you have now??
